White Salmon River Whitewater Rafting Trip in Washington

White Salmon River Whitewater Rafting Trip in Washington

Experience Columbia Gorge's Most Gorgeous River on the White Salmon River Whitewater Rafting Trip in Washington.

Your adventure jump-starts right in the middle of the most challenging rapid, Top Drop. Unique, pool-and-drop rapids await, such as Corkscrew, Waterspout, and Stairstep Falls. The high basalt cliffs rise and fall along the banks, teeming with tiny wildflowers, lady-finger ferns, and lush vegetation. With the rocks and water so close, you will have a very intimate feeling towards this amazingly beautiful river just across the Columbia River gorge from Oregon.

Your trip will end at Northwestern Lake, where you can change into dry clothes while we heat up the grills. Always an important part of the trip, the food is one of the reasons you'll come back year after year! Enjoy a top sirloin steak (veggie options available), locally grown corn on the cob, fresh salad, french bread, and lemonade. You will definitely have the best meal on the river! While you are eating and exchanging stories about the day, a photographer will stop by so you can see your awesome pictures from the falls.

The White Salmon is recommended for paddlers who are in relatively good shape and ready to take on the challenge of a technical Class 4 river.

14 foot Husum Falls, Totally Optional!

The White Salmon is federally protected as a "Wild & Scenic River", and this tour is one of the select few permitted by the Forest Service to run the tallest commercially raftable waterfall in the nation, 14-foot Class 5 Husum Falls! Right before the waterfall, you will stop at a beach along the river to learn what to do to stay in the boat. You'll have the option of getting out and walking around the falls (although it's highly recommended going down!). This is the highlight of the trip, where a photographer will be taking pictures of your plunge. Then you'll tackle the Class 3 rapids of the lower half.
